Our Process
A detailed look at the journey of your timepiece while at Stoll & Co.
Inbound Receiving of Your Timepiece
Each package is received in with complete care from the moment it’s delivered by the carrier. Your watches entire journey is monitored under surveillance and assigned a unique RFID code so the item can be tracked through our entire servicing process.
Thorough Diagnosis and Evaluation
Every timepiece begins its journey with a detailed assessment. Our expertwatchmakers carefully examine the mechanics, casing, and functionality to identify the root cause of any issues. This ensures a tailored repair plan for your watch's unique needs. Once the evaluation is complete, you’ll receive an email with a service estimate and instructions for providing payment. Upon approval, service work will begin.
Delicate Disassembly and Cleaning
Each component is delicately removed and ultrasonically cleaned to eliminate dust, grime, and residue that may affect performance. This step restores the integrity of the movement and prepares it for precise timekeping.
Expert Repairs and Adjustments
Next, our skilled watchmakers meticulously repair or replace any worn components and consumable parts before starting the reassembly process. During this stage, the movement is carefully lubricated and precisely regulated to ensure optimal performance and longevity. If any case restoration or repairs are requested this is done during this stage while our watchmakers complete the service of your timepiece.
Re-assembly and Analysis
Once your movement service is complete it is re-cased, all gaskets are replaced and the timepiece is re-assembled. Our watchmakers then pressure and vacuum-test the watch to ensure water resistance on all water-resistant timepieces.
Rigorous Testing and Quality Control
Before your watch is returned with secure and insured shipping, it undergoes extensive testing including a two-step quality control, timekeeping accuracy checks and power reserve testing. This ensures it meets the highest standards of reliability and performance.

FAQs
What is your average turnaround time?
At Stoll & Co., we aim for a turnaround time of 6–8 weeks. However, this can vary based on your watch and the work required. If factory parts or parts from external suppliers are needed and not in stock, we’ll order them before starting service. Delivery from suppliers can take weeks to months. We’ll provide an estimated timeline on your estimate and keep you updated on any delays.
Do you use genuine parts?
We always strive to use genuine parts whenever possible. We work with trusted suppliers around the world to source correct or original components. However, due to the wide variety of watches we service, some parts may be discontinued or hard to find. If non-genuine parts are needed, we’ll notify you before beginning work.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, as well as checks and money orders.
What happens once the estimate is approved?
Once you approve the estimate, we begin the process. If parts are required and not in stock, we order them right away. Once they arrive, your watch is assigned to a watchmaker for service. You can learn more about our detailed process HERE.
What happens if the estimate is declined or the item can not be serviced?
If you do not want to proceed with the service work or the service work can not be completed, we will contact you for payment for the return shipping of your item. You are also welcome to send us an insured shipping label to return your item to you.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes. All repairs come with a one-year warranty on the work performed.
How long does it take to receive an estimate?
We aim to provide an estimate within 5–7 business days. Our intake process is thorough and may include several days of testing to accurately diagnose the issue. If parts are needed from external vendors, we’ll reach out to get pricing and availability, please note this communication can take additional time. If there's a delay, we’ll keep you informed.
Can I drop off my watch?
Yes! If you're in the Dayton area, you're welcome to drop your watch off at our intake facility. For quick services like battery replacements, we may be able to complete them while you wait. Please call ahead if you'd like to wait during your service so we can confirm availability.
